As many as 314 stray pets were taken in during the same period last year, demonstrating a consistent yearly pattern of pets fleeing from the fear induced by loud noises.

The San Diego Humane Society’s process includes checking microchips and reaching out to owners via phone, email, and social media. In this week's heartwarming story, Leticia Leos and Angel Contreras successfully reunited with their lost pets, Storm and Daisy, respectively. While Daisy had been found and taken to the shelter by a caring citizen, Storm's presence was identified through the Humane Society's website, which posted a photo that caught Leos’ attention.

Angel Contreras expressed the emotional weight of searching for Daisy, revealing his worries about her safety amidst potential dangers like coyotes. The fear of losing a beloved pet is profound; it's a shared experience that many pet owners can empathize with. Leos, too, felt immense anxiety searching for Storm, showcasing the intense bond that exists between pets and their owners. "I was looking everywhere for her, in the middle of the night..." she described, giving voice to the heartfelt panic many experience in similar situations.
